Roy Young Evans

YUMA--Services were held last week for Dr. Roy Y. Evans, 60, who died Jan. 18 in his home here.

Dr. Evans, a podiatrist, was a recent nominee for Yuma's Man of the Year and was credited with starting the Military Appreciation Days here while aeronautics board chairman. He was also credited with helping to locate the McDonald Douglas Aircraft Co. here and had served as vice president of the Chamber of Commerce.

During his 19 years in Yuma, Dr. Evans, had donated much time to the United Fund and Freedom Forum.

Survivors include his wife, Helen; his sons, Don, and Bob; his parents, Dr. and Mrs. W.Y. Evans; and four grandchildren.

Dixon-Ryzek Yuma Mortuary handled arrangements.
