Jackie Lee Lyons, 73, went to be with his Lord on June 6, 2009, in Prescott Valley, Ariz. Born July 6, 1935, in Baxter Springs, Kan., to Floyd and Mary Lyons, his family moved to Tucson, Ariz., in 1942.

Jackie graduated from Tucson High School in 1954. He and Rita Jackson were married on Oct. 7, 1955. He was a tech sergeant in the United States Air Force and served in England, France and South Carolina. He then trained in electronics and worked for the Federal Aviation Administration for the rest of his career, retiring as an F.A.A. manager for northern Arizona in 1990.

Jackie and his family lived all over the western United States but called Arizona home. He enjoyed laughing, being with his family, fixing historic cars and trucks, fishing and gold panning.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rita; daughter Kim Nees (and Bob Green); daughter Kathy Ben-Shalom (and husband Danton Ben-Shalom), both of Payson, Ariz.; daughter Kelly Allison (and husband, John Allison) of Siloam Springs, Ark.; four grandchildren, Clinton Chatfield, Sarah and Hannah Allison and Shelby Ben-Shalom; and sister and brother-in-law Thelma and Bill Bambauer of Tucson, Ariz.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2009, at the First Southern Baptist Church of Prescott Valley, followed by a luncheon that all family and friends are invited to attend. Graveside services will follow at 11 a.m. Sunday, June 14, 2009, at Resthaven Park Cemetery in Glendale, Ariz.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be sent to the First Southern Baptist Church of Prescott Valley Youth Group, 2820 N. Pleasant View Dr., Prescott Valley, Ariz., 86314.
