William Murphy, 78, of Chino Valley, Ariz., born March 17, 1931, in Glendive, Mont., passed away June 11, 2009, in Scottsdale, Ariz.

William Murphy, age 78, passed away on June 11, 2009, in Scottsdale, Ariz. He leaves behind his loving wife of 20 years, Melody Murphy; two daughters, Brenda Herr of Ephrata, Wash., who lovingly cared for her father until he passed, and Diane Miller of Moses Lake, Wash.; son Brian Schroeder of Spokane, Wash., who has been Melody's source of strength and moral support during this time, and Jerry Schroeder, also of Spokane, Wash.; two brothers, R.D. Murphy and Tom Murphy; and two sisters, Lois Murphy and Joyce Skogas, all of Montana. Mrs. Murphy would like to take this opportunity to offer a special thanks to DeDe Enriquez for everything she has done.

Mr. Murphy owned and operated Horseman's 1st Choice in Chino Valley for the past 25 years and also joined his wife Melody in running Pet's 1st Choice pet grooming, also in Chino Valley. Mr. Murphy was an accomplished racehorse trainer before his retirement. He will be missed by all who knew him.
