Paul Herbert Stewart

Paul Stewart, age 67, born in Logan, W.Va., to Dolly Stewart and Fred Dingess July 3, 1941, passed away on June 9, 2009, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, Ariz.

Paul lived in Southern California as a young man where he began a business manufacturing aluminum awnings. He was married and started his family in California. In 1978, Paul relocated to Chino Valley, Ariz. As a real estate developer, he built commercial strip centers, housing developments and many custom spec homes under the company known as Horizons Development Inc. For more than 20 years Paul divided his time between Chino Valley and Lake Havasu City, Ariz.

Paul was an avid car enthusiast his entire life and collected, restored and drove countless cars over the years. Paul belonged to many car clubs in the Prescott area and Lake Havasu City. He was also a member of the Eagles and Moose Lodges where he enjoyed the company of friends playing darts and Texas Hold 'Em.

Paul is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jerilynn; daughters Trish Grier and Chris Somers, both of Lake Havasu City, and Terri Conrad of Las Vegas, Nev.; son Michael Hixon of Chino Valley; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters Susie Wergers of Cleves, Ohio, Sheila Bechel of Cherry Tree, Pa., and Connie Thompson of Cottonwood, Ariz.; stepmother Thelma Dingess of Cleves, Ohio; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A celebration of Paul's life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to give generously of themselves to family, friends and community. Contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
