| Arizona Republic (Phoenix, Arizona) Thursday, September 24, 1942, Section Two, Page Five Globe Pastor Dies After Long Illness GLOBE, Sept. 23--The Rev. Verge McCanlies, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene, died at a local hospital last night after a long illness. He came here some time ago from Phoenix to accept the pastorate of the local church.
