| The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona September 20, 2008 Laurette D. Bruni, 85, a long time Scottsdale resident, peacefully passed away at her Henderson, Nevada residence on Tuesday, September 16, 2008, surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, and retired from her teaching career with the Chicago Board of Education in 1988. She was preceded in death by her husband Lon in 1989. Survivors include her sons Dr. William D. (Donna) of Dayton, NV, Stephen D. of Elgin, IL and Frank D. (Ann) Bruni of Henderson, NV and her daughters Laurette M. (Trigve) Espeland of Gilberts, IL, Paula M. (Leon) Monachos of Geneva, IL and Irene M. (Jim) Simaner of St. Augustine, FL, her 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, Sep. 22, at the chapel at St. Patrick's Catholic Community, 10815 N. 84th St., Scottsdale. Interment at Paradise Memorial Gardens, Scottsdale, AZ. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 Swenson St. Las Vegas, NV 89119 or the Alzheimer's Foundation. Arrangements by Messinger Indian School Mortuary.
