Cleveland Wayne (Pete) Williams Born in Vilona, Arkansas on Oct. 2, 1925. Departed on June 6, 2003 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona. Cleveland W. (Pete) Williams, 77, of Cottonwood died June 6, 2003. He was born October 2, 1925 in Vilona, Arkansas. During World War II he served first with the Navy and then was assigned to the Marines as a medic and was a veteran of the battle of Iowa Jima. He was a retired electrical engineer and worked for many years for Mountain Bell. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and was formerly active in the Arizona Chapter 66 Pioneers, the Arizona Flywheelers and the Mingus Gem and Mineral Club. He leaves a daughter, Patricia Duff of Cottonwood; four sisters, Lodema Magill of Ariz., Jane Parker of Or., Pauline Gooden of Tenn. and Pam Cline of N.C.; three brothers, Bill Williams of Ariz., George Lloyd of Indonesia and Vinson Williams of Ariz.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Monday, June 9 from 6 to 7 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Tueday, June 10 in the Immaculate Conception Church at 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Valley View Cemetery. Westcott Funeral Home, Cottonwood and Camp Verde, Arizona. |
