Christine Miller Wuerthele died peacefully at her home in Wickenburg, on July 3, 2020. Christine, "Tina" was born April 14, 1939, in Irondequoit, N.Y., and was the first child of Katherine (Nietsch) and Richard Miller. Tina attended and graduated from the local Irondequoit high school in 1957. She attended Allegheny College in Meadville, Penn., where she earned her bachelor's degree in Sociology in 1961. During this time, Tina stayed home raising their children before returning to work at Springfield College as an Administrative Assistant to the Registrar. Tina supported her children in all their pursuits including attending countless soccer and hockey games, enthusiastically cheering them on. Tina and Dave retired to Wickenburg in 1998. They established a lovely and inviting home where they hosted many social gatherings including annual 4th of July and Christmas Eve parties. Tina was a founding member and president of the Wickenburg Breast Cancer Network, where she helped raise thousands of dollars to help support local breast cancer survivors through the annual Wickenburg Walks to Boot Breast Cancer event. She was an active volunteer for the Desert Caballeros Western Museum and opened her home to Cowgirl Up artists. She was a voracious reader, enjoyed travel, gardening, antiquing and spending time with her many friends. Playing golf, Wednesday coffee, book club, and playing bridge were some of her favorite things. In addition to her children, she is survived by her brother Richard Miller of Arizona; two daughters-in-law Eileen Wuerthele of Pennsylvania, Denice Wuerthele of Massachusetts, a son-in-law Tom Mattern of New York, seven grandchildren, Josh Wuerthele of New Jersey, Colin Wuerthele of London, Kellsey Wuerthele of Massachusetts, Keith Mattern of Florida, Mary Wuerthele of Washington, Henry Mattern of New York, Cam Wuerthele of Maryland, and a great-grandson, Declan David Wuerthele of New Jersey.
