Ruth Cassidy, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 8, 2006. She was born in Casey, Illinois on February 27, 1924 to Ora and Carrie Tyhurst. It was in Casey that she met her only sweetheart, Joe Cassidy, while attending Casey High School. Joe and Ruth were married 63 wonderful years. Together, they enjoyed many years traveling the the U.S. and 14 years ago, they settled in Cottonwood, Arizona. Ruth's favorite pastimes were reading and feeding her minagerie of wildlife, especially her quail, in her backyard. She loved flowers; she loved giving them, and she loved receiving them, especially beautiful roses. Her grandchildren fondly remember Grandma placing shiny silver dollars in their tiny hands as children and saying, "Don't tell your mom"! Ruth is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph; two daughters, Judy and Peggy; her brother, Jerry Tyhurst and his wife, Bobbe; four grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. We all, will miss her dearly and look forward to the day we meet in Heaven.
