Published in Today's News Herald on Jan. 12, 2021 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Larry Gile, 86, passed away Jan. 4, 2021 at his home in Lake Havasu City. Mr. Gile was born in Scobey, Montana, while much of his life was lived in Southern California where he graduated from San Pedro High School and joined the Marine Corp, serving in Korea. Larry was an L.A. City Fire Department for 22 years, as a paramedic, fireman and later captain. He was awarded the Congressional Medal of Valor in 1968. Following the passing of his wife, Gloria, of 48 years in 2003, Larry made his home in Lake Havasu City where these later years were shared with his loving and loved companion, Marcia Shupp. Here, Larry found many new friends with a passion that matched his for classic cars. He enjoyed a variety of activities and projects that he tackled together with many of these great friends here in Havasu. Mr. Gile is survived by three children, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services were entrusted to the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
