Gary "Mike" Michael Emmett, 64, resident of Rimrock, Arizona, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2006. He was born on December 2, 1941 to Cecil and Geraldine (Johnson) Emmett in Mesa, Arizona, and grew up in the Valley of the Sun.

He was a graduate of Camelback High School and attended NAU for three years.

Mike owned Fish Peddler Restaurants in both Cottonwood, Ariz. and Flagstaff, Ariz. Mike retired from Yavapai county as an Inspector for the Planning and Zoning Department. He was also a Land Developer.

He enjoyed trap and skeet shooting, as well as cattle roundups. Other interests and hobbies included camping, hunting, reading, "Harley Riding", and deep sea fishing.

Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Mike loved his wife, children, grandchildren, his mother and brother. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather.

Mike was a member of the Beaver Creek Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his father, Cecil James Emmett.

Mike leaves behind his wife of 6 years, Linda Joy Emmett of Rimrock, Ariz.; son, Bert Emmett, RaeEtta, Los Angeles, Calif.; daughters, Coleen Wilson, husband, Steve, Fond Dula, Wisc., and Caitlin Mae Emmett, Tucson, Ariz.; his mother, Geraldine "Jerry" Emmett, Prescott, Ariz.; his brother, Jim Emmett, wife, Maggie, also of Prescott, Ariz.; his step-children, Bret Matousek, wife, Terry, Steven Matousek, wife, Susan, and Todd Matousek, wife, Dana, all of Glendale, Ariz. Mike also leaves behind eight adored grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held in Mike's honor at Westcott Funeral Home, 1013 E. Mingus Ave., in Cottonwood, Ariz., on Friday, March 24, 2006 at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contribution can be sent in Mike's name to any charitable organization of choice.
