Departed on April 26, 2006 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona.

Lois A. Boiteau - McGowan, 77, resident of Cottonwood, Arizona, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2006. She was born on March 29, 1929 to Loren and Jennifer Arkins in Duluth, Minnesota.

During her childhood, she attend Macalester College. Following such, she attended the University of Minnesota for two years.

Professionally, Lois was a travel agent. When she took her retirement in the Village of Oak Creek, she held the position of manager.

Lois was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the choir and loved to sing. She loved music and playing the piano.

Lois loved Arizona, and she enjoyed traveling, hiking, and cooking. Lois had a thirst for learning; and she loved all types of history.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Loren and Jennifer Arkins; her first husband, James D. Wolff; her second husband, R. Edward Boiteau and one granchild, Samuel Eckhoff.

Lois leaves behind her husband of 9 years, Kenny McGowan, Cottonwood, Ariz.; sons, Dr. James E. Wolff, Darlene, Fort Dodge, Ia., Robert L. Wolff, wife, Agnes, Hugo, Minn., and Ted Boiteau, wife, Carol, Royal Oak, Mich.; daughters, Sheryl A. Byars, husband, Jim, LaGrand, Or., and Debbie Haynes, husband, Peter, Costa Mesa, Calif; brother, Robert J. Arkins, wife, Peggy, Lakewood, Calif; eighteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Christ Lutheran Church, 25 Chapel Road, in Sedona, Arizona. Contributions in her name can also be sent to the Christ Lutheran Church.
