Departed on Jan. 9, 2003 and resided in Camp Verde, AZ.

Elmer Edward Edwards, 82, of Camp Verde died January 9. he was born February 5, 1920 in Copper Hill (Globe).

He grew up in Globe and went on to serve in World war II with the Army in Japan. He was employed with Union Oil Company in Phoenix for 40 years. Retiring in 1984, he he moved from Phoenix to Camp Verde.
Mr. Edwards had been active in the Old Time Fiddlers, the VFW Post #6739 and the Elks. he was a member of the Baptist faith.

He leaves his wife Evelyn Edwards of 60 years; daughter, Patsy Pierce, Camp Verde; four sisters, Florence Wright, Phoenix, Doris Marie Smith, Yuma, Colleen Patterson and Virginia Garner both of Camp Verde; a brother Buff Edwards of Camp Verde; two grandchildren, one great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held on January 11 in the Clear Creek Cemetery.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Camp Verde United Christian School, P.O. Box 3126, Camp Verde, Arizona, 86322.
