Published in The Arizona Republic from Apr. 12 to Apr. 15, 2021 - Phoenix, Arizona - Jesus "Chuey" Gonzales passed away on April 2, 2021 in Tempe, AZ at the age of 92. He was born in Jerome, AZ and was preceded in death by his spouse, Amparo, his daughter, Marylou (Tom), son, Rudy and his wife Gabrielle, his parents and three siblings. Chuey moved from Jerome to Bisbee, with his wife, Amparo, whom he was married to for 65 years. He is survived by his son, Art (Toni), daughter, Tina, 5 grandchildren, Angelique, Sergio, Mark, Mara, Megan (Joe) and 7 great- grandchildren, Leilani, Sergio Jr, Kalea, Grayson, Adam, Anthony, and Addison. Besides being a great husband, dad and grandpa, Chuey was as a copper miner for 30 years until he retired and then worked as a handyman around Bisbee and at several Bisbee establishments. Chuey loved hunting, drinking beer and always kept busy on home improvement projects at his home and his families' homes. Family was most important to Chuey and he will be truly missed. A private family service will be held in the future. |
