| Published in Mohave Daily News Online on Apr. 16, 2021 - Bullhead City, Arizona - Born Wanda May Cartner to Otis and Stella, Wanda began her career in Wyoming penning the weekly "A Little Ray of Hope" for the Torrington Telegram and local radio as Wanda C. Ray. She was a fashion model, dance instructor and on-air personality at KRON in San Francisco. By the late 50's, at Rocketdyne, she served as editor of the parts catalogue for the Saturn-5 Rocket engine and as gal-Friday at KFWB in Hollywood, California. Wanda moved to Bullhead City circa '75. For 40 years she was all things Bullhead. Her twice weekly columns Rollin' On The River and Showtime, Chamber Notes, her features and interviews for Mohave Valley News, the Weekender, the Entertainer and others were #1 in reader polls until her retirement in 2005. Active in politics and community as Librarian at the Jr. High School, Chaplin to the Arizona Democratic Convention, Creative Writing instructor at the Community College, and Founding Member of the Tri- State and BHC Chambers of Commerce. Wanda owned and operated Shorelines Professional Writing and Resume Service. She was past-president of the BPOW, a Riverbelle, served as Treasurer for the local Democrats and sponser of The Boy's and Girl's Club. She taught TaiChi and founded a long active Unitarian group with over 40 members. She managed and booked local entertainment... sponsored the concert for Columbine and received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Country and Western Swing Music Association in 2000. Married for 2 years to Billy Miller '48, Kenneth Dean Erzinger '52- '60, Robert Reid '97. She is survived by her children, Starlene Jameson and E. E. Eric Erzinger; granddaughter, Lola May Elkins; and two great-grandchildren. A memorial is planned for 9:00 am Monday, April 19th at the park of BHC Chamber of Commerce.
