Born in Webb, Arizona on Sept. 17, 1917.
Departed on May 23, 2006 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona.

Margaret Ellen Hawthorne, 88, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2006.

She was born to Ed and Ethel Penn on September 17, 1917 in Webb, Arizona. She was a graduate of Globe High School.

Margaret loved to paint and work on crafts. She also loved dogs and birds. She was a member of the Emmanuel Fellowship Church.

Most of all, Margaret was a very loving mother, whose loved and helpfulness was extended to anyone in need.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Hawthorne.

Margaret leaves behind her son, Gus Hawthorne, wife, Terri, Fontana, Calif.; daughters, Michelle Barbee, Cottonwood, Ariz. and Rise Vanderburg, husband, Mike, Ft. Wayne, Ind.; brother, George Penn, wife, Irene, Cottonwood, Ariz.; sister, Charlotte Pownell, husband, Howard, of Milwaukie, Or.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations can be made in her name to: The Alzheimer's Association, Desert Southwest Chapter, Northern Arizona Region, 225 Grove Avenue, Suite B, Prescott, Arizona, 86301.

No public services will be held.
