Born in Lincoln, Nebraska on April 2, 1923.
Departed on May 18, 2006 and resided in Camp Verde, Arizona.

Virginia Ruth Carter, 83, of Camp Verde, Arizona died May 18, 2006. She was born April 2, 1923 in Lincoln, Nebraska, the daughter of Harry Thurston Lee and Orpha Christine (Becker) Lee.

Mrs. Carter loved her grandchildren. She spoiled them and never got upset when they were mischievous. She enjoyed watching baseball, raising dogs, hunting and fishing. Known as a great cook, she was a wonderful mother, homemaker and friend.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Wesley Carter.

She leaves three sons, William Wesley Carter, wife Valerie, Richard Lee Carter, wife Joanna and Robert Lee Carter, wife Vickie, all of Camp Verde; three daughters, Sharon Lee Turner, husband Allen, Camp Verde, Kathryn Ann Norris, husband Harold, Cottonwood and Cheryl Aggars, husband Larry, of Salt Lake City, Ut.; sixteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

A visitation will b held on Monday, May 22 in the Westcott Funeral Home in Camp Verde from 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 23 in the funeral home at 10 a.m.

Burial will be in Clear Creek Cemetery.
