William Robert Carter Born in Portland, Oregon on Oct. 14, 1912. Departed on April 9, 2003 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona. William 'Bill' Robert Carter, 90, of Cottonwood died April 9. He was born October 14, 1912 in Portland, Oregon. He was a naval veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Verde Valley Presbyterian Church and a 35 year member of the Jerome Lodge of Elks in Clarkdale and a nine year member of the American Legion. He leaves his wife, Thelma L. Carter; a daughter, Jean Male of Hemet, Calif.; a son Robert and Donna Clouser of Bradenton, Fla.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 27 in the Verde Valley Presbyterian Church at 2 p.m. Burial will be held at a later time in the San Jacinto Valley Cemetery in Hemet, California. Donations in his memory may be made to the Verde Valley Presbyterian Church, 1500 E. Hombre Drive, Cottonwood. Westcott Funeral Home assisted the family with these arrangements.
