Born in Dunklin County, Missouri on Feb. 1, 1915.
Departed on March 25, 2002 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona.

Jimmie L. Newell, 87, passed away March 22, 2002 at his home in Cottonwood, Arizona. He was born in Dunklin County, Missouri, the only son of Roscoe and Myrtle Newell.

In his early years the family moved to Flint, Michigan where he finished school. Interested in boxing, he participated in the Golden Gloves program.

He worked for General Motors before enlisting in the armed services during World War II. Much of his time in the service was spent over seas. After returning home he joined his parents in the family business for awhile.

Later his interests took him into the trucking business. After his retirement from Complete Auto Transit in the early 1970's, he devoted much of his time to bowling, hunting and his favorite activity, fishing. A member of the Fenton Bass Club, he joined in tournaments held all over the state and perfected his talents. He participated in life with an interest and an enthusiasm that kept him youg at heart. He goes to join a son who preceded him in death. He leaves behind his large family who love him dearly. He will be sadly missed.
