Flora (Selleck) Ramirez

Posted 2009-06-18 by Edward Peed
On June 9, 2009, our Lord smiled at Flora Selleck Ramirez and called her name to take her place at His side forever, ending her pain and suffering.

Flora was born at home in Winkelman to parents, James Blaine Selleck and Teresa Rivera Monterde; she was the granddaughter of Joseph Selleck and Hanna Harrington, pioneer family of the San Pedro River Valley. Flora was very proud that her great-uncle Dudley was the first Postmaster of Dudleyville in the 1800s and the town was eventually named after him.

Flora was a longtime resident of San Manuel. She had many friends throughout the area and will certainly be missed.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur Ramirez; daughter, Monica (Jose) Quiroz; sons, Joe (Marcela) Valdez, Ronnie (Irene) Valdez and Chris (Barbara) Quiroz; sisters, Grace Marin, Elma Solano and Teresa Peña; brothers, James Selleck Jr. and Cecil (Josie) Selleck; 19 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Caroline Solano, and brothers, Arnold Lorona and Dudley Selleck.

Services for Mrs. Ramirez were held Friday, June 12, in Hayden.
