Published by Mohave Daily News Online from Jul. 9 to Jul. 16, 2021 - Bullhead City, Arizona - Sharon Virginia Moore born in Whittier, Calif. on July 31, 1951, passed away in Fort Mohave, Ariz. on April 10, 2021 after a brief battle with Covid-19 and Gary Randall Moore born in Upland, Calif. on December 5, 1952 also passed away a short time after his beloved wife on June 25, 2021 in Glendale, Ariz. after a short battle with the same illness that took his wife and mother to their nine children and 22 grandchildren; John (Johnny), Daniella (Donovan), Nicole (Mark Sr., Mark Jr., Christopher), Samuel (Tobi), Matthew (Denise, Madison, Mason), Angela (Jeremiah, Ella, Benjamin, Kinsley), Jordan (Taylor, Emmitt, Dolly, Brigham, Braden, Winnie), Clarissa (Anthony, Isabella, Axton, Estelle, Aradessa), Jason (Joseph, Zoeii Jane); brothers, George and Phil Melendrez; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. They were truly life partners who celebrated their 50 year wedding anniversary on September 22, 2019 and left this world a mere 76 days apart. They are loved and will be missed. Sharon kept herself very busy raising eight children. She was a wife, daughter, sister, grandma, aunt, cousin and friend. She wore many hats and carried many titles throughout her life, Crossing Guard, Lunch Lady, PTA Volunteer, Girl Scout Leader, Softball Coach, MAD Volunteer, Baker, Social Care Taker and so many others but none more important to her than that of MOM. She was the mom to many and loved by all. If you were hungry she would feed you, she was the BEST cook. She showed her love through the food that she made and it was always delicious. She was quiet until she needed to be heard and was always optimistic. She believed in God and made sure her children did too. She expressed herself through literature and loved to read and write. She had nicknames for everyone which endeared us all, names we will forever cherish. She was a poet, what she couldn't verbalize or adequately express, she poured into her own words with pen to paper. She fought for her life, a cancer survivor, congestive heart failure and diabetes couldn't keep her down. She continued that fight throughout her life as she fought to love and protect her children, to keep her family united. It was her one true desire, to see all of her children together and unified. A few short years ago her desire was granted and her Christmas Baby, Angela was reunited with us closing the circle to nine children. She was able to embrace Angela and grant her the desires of her heart, reunification with her birth family. Gary was a natural athlete who was scouted by the Dodgers but chose Freedom over Fame. A Veteran of the United States Army and proud American through and through. He endured a great deal throughout his life and is also a survivor of cancer. Nothing made him happier than to sit back on a Sunday afternoon, beer in hand, watching any Nascar race on television. He loved the sport and there was none better than Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. He was "loud and proud" and had no problem telling you how he felt and what he thought. He worked as the cement foreman of WMK Transit Mix for nearly 20 years. He created concrete for many of the Casinos in Laughlin, Nevada. He assisted in the creation and pouring of the concrete for the Laughlin/Bullhead City bridge as well as the curbs, gutters, parks and businesses throughout the Tri-State area. Gary was a member of Operating Engineers and awarded the first ever, prestigious 1 Million Workman Hours without incident. He shared his talent of building and construction with all of his children and had high expectations for all that knew him; he ruled his home in the same fashion. He was strong, often intimidating and he taught all of his kids to be strong, to have a voice of their own and fight for what they want, need or believe in. He loved Bullhead City and the Colorado River and dreamed of the day we'd all float down the river together, cast a pole and catch some fish. Gary and Sharon will be remembered as fighters who endured, persevered and overcame. We are truly grateful that they survived it all to see their children grow to have families of their own and become successful people in their respective ways. They will be cherished always and their legacy will live on in each of their children and grandchildren. THE STORY OF RAIN by Sharon Moore I tell my children the story of rain, when they ask from whence it came. The angels are watching you from above, the raindrops are the angel's gift of love. The angels see loneliness and they feel pain, the angels are crying this cleansing rain. Each little tear is a promise of peace, within each one is a bit of release. The angels were sent to stand at your side, to be your friend and spiritual guide. Look to heaven as the angels tears slow, and search the clouds for the rainbows glow. If you spot it in the great blue sky, you will feel inside, why the angels cry. After the rain, the sun peeks through, and it shines in the smile of each of you. Look at the clouds, what do you see? Maybe an angel on bended knee? Listen quietly, open up those ears, the birds are singing their song of cheer. The simple message in the story of rain, is to seek out good things when you're in pain. Remember, you always have a friend, reach out and touch what the angels have sent.
