Published by Today's News Herald from Jul. 31 to Aug. 1, 2021 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Claudia Miller, our Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, "Auntie" passed away at home on June 24th at age 99. She joins her husband of 70 years and her mom, dad and 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Claudia was born in 1922, in LaHabra, California, the middle child of Leslie and May Jones' five children. While attending Fullerton Junior College, Claudia married her high school sweetheart, Dale Miller. Claudia graduated from University in Fullerton, California and taught school in California and Germany where Dale's job as an executive with the Boy Scouts during the 1960's led to six very exciting years. Daughter, Lee, spent time there during her university years. After returning to California, Claudia continued teaching, and Dale continued in scouting until they retired to Lake Havasu City, Arizona and built their home in 1981. Retirement travels included RVing in the U.S and trips back to Germany and surrounding European countries often accompanied by friends and family including their daughter. Claudia loved painting, making silver jewelry and quilting. She was a member of the Havasu Art Guild, the Havasu Yacht Club and Gem and Mineral Club. Remaining immediate family include; daughter Lee and grandson Brian who now live in Lake Havasu, and granddaughter, Kristi and twin great grandchildren in Oregon. Claudia's sweet smile and kindness will be missed by many. Her wish was that memories of her would be of the happy times, and of smiles, laughing on bright sunny days and the love we shared. |
