Published by Mohave Daily News Online on Aug. 1, 2021 - Bullhead City, Arizona - Rudolf Wroblewski, aka "Rudy" and "Sonny", age 78, of Mohave Valley, passed away at home of natural causes on Friday, July 16, 2021. Born July 17, 1942, Rudy was the son of the late Robert and Elizabeth Wroblewski. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, and moved to Ontario, California when he was a young boy. His parents immigrated to the United States from Germany and Austria, and he grew up in a very close-knit Catholic family. He was raised in a family where there was always an open door for anyone to come in and enjoy a meal. This is surely where he developed his massive appetite - though he was not the largest man in Mohave Valley by any standard, he could devour a feast fit for a family single handedly! He was also a gifted mechanic and from an early age began building wagons, bikes, cars and boats. He and his younger brother, Frank would fashion some crazy vehicles out of spare parts. Rudy married Renee Payne on his twenty-first birthday, and they had two daughters. He worked for Standard Oil for many years before securing his own Chevron Station in Chino, California. The family spent most weekends out at the family home in Mohave Valley on the Colorado River and that is where Rudy settled years later. Boating, fishing and off-roading were among Rudy's favorite pastimes. Perhaps one of the most endearing qualities he possessed was his ability to tell a story. The details!! He would make you feel like you were part of whatever shenanigan he relayed. He will be profoundly missed by his neighbors, as he was the ultimate Good Neighbor. His fellow residents of Willow Valley all regarded him a trustworthy and estimable neighbor - so much so that he was entrusted the keys to nearly all their houses! He is survived and will be deeply missed by his daughters, Jennifer Wilde and Jill Gillis; grandsons, Robert Gillis, Zachary Wilde and Michael Gillis; sons-in-law, Casey Wilde and Bob Gillis. He recently became a great-grandfather to Oliver Wilde. He came from a family of eight children and is survived by his older brother John Wroblewski and his younger siblings Frank Wroblewski and Betty Talbott. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Rudy was a humble man and did not wish to be memorialized. He requested that he be cremated and that his ashes be spread in the Colorado River where he will join the countless ancestors that lived by its beautiful waters. |
