| The Big Bug News, Yavapai County, Arizona Tuesday, June 16, 2009 Leone Mary Bender, 98, of Black Canyon City, Ariz., passed away June 3, 2009. She was born Nov. 22, 1910, in McPherson County, Neb., one of nine children of William Harmon Hall and Rosa Mary Fritsch Hall. She and Mervyn Jones were married in 1931 and lived in Twin Falls, Idaho, where Leone worked in retail sales for many years. Mervyn passed away in 1970. In 1975 she married Paul Bender who had also grown up in McPherson County, Neb. They moved to Black Canyon City, Ariz., in 1979. Leone was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed fishing. Although she had no children of her own, she stayed in close contact with her nieces and nephews and maintained many close friendships. No services are planned. Information provided by survivors. |
