Published by The Miner on Sep. 11, 2021 - Kingman, Arizona >>> June 11, 1937 - May 28, 2021 <<< Ruth Emma Gilgen, a longtime resident of Kingman, age 83, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter Rhonda (Gilgen) Verbanic in Milford, Ohio. She was there to visit her daughter, son-in-law, granddaughter and family. While on her visit she was diagnosed with stage 3 esophageal cancer. Ruth was close to her brothers. She loved arts and crafts. Ruth always had a smile and never met a stranger. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents John and Emma (Heiniger) Gilgen; as well as her brothers Rudolf, Raymond and Ronny; and sister- in-law Helen Gilgen. She was the loving mother of her son Richard Gilgen and her daughter Rhonda (Gilgen) Verbanic and husband Mike Verbanic; beloved Grandmother to granddaughters Caitlynn and Carly Gilgen of Kingman, Arizona, Emma (Verbanic) and Jason Daniels; and three great- grandchildren Adelyn, Lorelei and Carson Daniels of Fort Thomas, Kentucky; dear Aunt to nephews Doug and Robbie Gilgen and niece Linda (Gilgen) Smith; and family friend of over 40 years to Linda Herrington of Kingman. Ruth requested that her body be donated to science. Ruth will benefit the medical program at the University of Cincinnati Ohio. The family will have a celebration of life at a later time. |
