| Published by Today's News Herald from Sep. 18 to Sep. 19, 2021 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Virginia "Ginny" Lee Runkel, age 74, passed away peacefully August 26, 2021 at home in Lake Havasu City, AZ. She was born May 29, 1947, to Alfred and Dorothy Hackbarth. Ginny got her high school diploma from Wausau High School in Wausau WI. Ginny worked as a Janitor for the Lake Havasu Unified School District #1, Oro Grande school. Ginny married John Runkel in Wausau Wisconsin, and they were married for 54 years. Ginny was a Christian and attended Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed knitting, Nascar, hockey and cheering on her beloved Green Bay Packers. Ginny is survived by her husband John Runkel; son Ken Runkel of Merrill, WI; daughters Tracy Clack and Becky Michaud of Lake Havasu City, AZ; brother William Hackbarth of Wasau, WI; sisters Jeanette Beck of Tripoli, WI; Sue Green of Wausau, WI; Nancy Mumper of Green Bay, WI; eight grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren (with another one on the way). She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Dorothy Hackbarth. Arrangements were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
