| Published by Today's New Herald on Oct. 22, 2021 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona (personal article, page 5) Brian Joseph Hansen, 38, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona died after a valiant and exhaustive fight against COVID-19. Brian was born September 7, 1983, to John and Karren Hansen at Torrejon Air Base, Madrid, Spain. Raised in Sonora, California, he was an adored son and was everyone’s favorite brother. Brian loved to play football and after a compound fracture ended his “career”, he found his real joy, announcing football games. He worked with Lake Havasu High School and Thunderbolt Middle School announcing games up until his death. His gift for knowing players, stats, and game facts would put the guys at Sports Center to shame. Brian graduated from Sonora High School in 2002. Following high school he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Lubbock, Texas. There he learned Spanglish and a deep appreciation for Tex-Mex. He returned from his mission and met the love (after sports) of his life Kelly Lindsay, in Modesto, California. They were married May of 2007. His greatest life’s work came from their marriage, their children Zak and Chloe. He loved being their dad. He was never one to be angry and was always supportive of the things they had going on. Brian worked hard and humbly at Mohave Mental Health, where he was famous for his pranks and loved by his work family. His family would describe him as humble and will never forget his perfect laugh. Brian loved everyone genuinely and his family is so proud of him. Brian is survived by his wife, Kelly Melissa Hansen, children Zachary Thomas Hansen and Chloe Melissa Hansen, his parents John and Karren Hansen all of Lake Havasu City. His grandmother, Willette Stratton, of Waterford, California. His father and mother in-law Duane and Shirley Lindsay of Modesto, California. He is also survived by his brothers, John II (Jennifer) of Sacramento, California, Jeremy (Kristen) of Pleasant Grove, Utah, Andrew (Rachel) of Farmington, New Mexico; and his sisters Kristina (Shane) of Cambridge, Minnesota, Rebecca of Lake Park, Florida, Jessica (Ryan) of Plain City, Utah and Kylie (Chris) of Gardnerville, Nevada; and brother-in-law Stan (Michelle) of Modesto, California, Michael Barron and sister-in-law Bree Barron; also honorary siblings Bo and Tevon Carringer of Lake Havasu City. Brian was a wonderful uncle, a baby whisperer, to many nieces and nephews who love and adore him. He is also survived by a large loving family of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Brian will be missed dearly. “Heroes get remembered but legends never die.” Brian will live on in the lives of his beautiful children, in every San Diego Padres win, whenever Havasu Online TV broadcasts, anytime a Phase 10 game lasts more than 2 hours and in every family get together, which he loved the most.
