George A. Conn, 84, of Cottonwood, died May 23. He was born Aug. 25, 1924, in Asher, Okla., the son of Alexander and Ella Coleman Conn.

He served his country in the Merchant Marines during World War II.

Mr. Conn owned and operated Conn Pest Control for 30 years. The business continues in the family with offices in Cottonwood, Prescott and Flagstaff. He received awards from the Arizona Pest Control Association.

He enjoyed ranching, his horse Stormy, bird watching and feeding and reading.

Mr. Conn was preceded in death by a son, Les Shelton, and all of his siblings.

He is survived by his wife, Lucy A. Conn; children, Sharon "Sam" McWilliams (Dickie) of Cottonwood; Arnold Shelton (Laura) of Prescott Valley; Judy Shelton of Flagstaff; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 30 in the Westcott Funeral Home at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 8125 N. 23rd Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85021
