Ruth C. Stewart Born in Rogers, New Mexico on Sept. 6, 1934. Departed on March 4, 2002 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona. Ruth C. Stewart, 68, of Cottonwood, joined her husband, J.W. Stewart in death on March 4, 2002. Ruth was born in Rogers, New Mexico on September 6, 1934. Mrs. Stewart was well known in the Verde Valley as being an exceptional cook. She had worked at the Black Hills Restaurant in Clarkdale, she then moved on to work at the Chatter Box, she eventually became the owner of the Cottonwood Cafe in Old Town. Ruth is survived by her daughter, N. Lea Matley; sons Melvin and Cahrley Stewart; sisters Helen and Pauline Criswell; seven garndchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Private services were arranged by the Westcott Funeral Home. Westcott Funeral Home, Cottonwood and Camp Verde, Arizona. |
