Iola Blanche Gaston, 91, of Cottonwood, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2003. She was born in Maryville, Missouri on December 1, 1911.

On June 28, 1933, Iola married Earll Edward Gaston in Pasadena, California, and lived there until their retirement in 1966. Earll and Iola spent the next five years touring the United States and Mexico in search of the perfect place to settle. They chose Cottonwood, Arizona and purchased a home in 1971. They also continued to travel,and were able to enjoy their interests in square dancing, fishing and hunting. Iola also had a gift for crocheting and through the years she kept her family furnished with her wonderful crocheted items.

Iola is survived by her husband of 70 years, Earll 'Tex' Gaston; a daughter: Beverly Shanks of Cottonwood; a son: Maurice Gaston of California; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 8th at 11:00 a.m. at the Westcott Funeral Home, 1013 E. Mingus Avenue, Cottonwood, Arizona. Memorial donations, may be sent to Northern Arizona Hospice 269 S. Candy Lane, Cottonwood, Arizona, 86326.
