Mary Dawson

Mary Dawson of Sun City West and Oracle, Ariz., passed peacefully on July 3.

She was born in Leadville on Jan. 20, 1926. Dawson grew up in Leadville where some of the time was spent on her grandparents' cattle ranch.

Dawson was a homemaker and raised three children while living in San Manuel, Ariz., and worked at the San Manuel High School cafeteria until her retirement.

She lived in San Manuel, Tucson and Oracle, Ariz., until 2004 when she moved to Sun City West.

Dawson is survived by sons Ken (Terry) of Sun City West, David (Marlyn) of Tucson; grandsons Stephen of Austin, Texas, Scott of Peoria, Ariz., Nick Dawson of Tucson, and Tyler Ramsay of London, England; great-grandsons Spencer and Max Dawson; sisters Ann Blamey, Rose Videtich and Marge Taylor of Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ben in 1983 and daughter Debbie Dawson Ramsay in 1995.

She was loved by many and will be missed.

Mass will be held Saturday, July 14, at 10 a.m. at St. Helen's Mission, 66 Maplewood St., Oracle, Ariz. Her ashes will be interred at Evergreen Cemetery next to her daughter in a private ceremony.
