Robert Roy "Bob" Johnson, 72, of McMinnville, Ore., died Nov. 12, 2006 at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center. Services are pending at Macy & Son Funeral Home in McMinnville. Burial will be at Claquato Cemetery & Sunset Memorial Gardens in Chehalis, Wash. Pastor Steve Ross of McMinnville United Methodist Church will officiate. Mr. Johnson was born June 15, 1934 to Ray R. and Olive (Miller) Johnson. He served in the Navy as a sonarman. He was a frequent winter visitor to Arizona. He was a joker and enjoyed RV'ing, camping and doing yard work for churches. He won state awards for his dilled pickles, was active in Elks and Moose lodges and was named Lion of the Year in 2002. He loved spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Shirley; a son, Jeff Johnson of Timber, Ore.; two daughters, Tammy Brown and Kimberly Roach of Coquille, Ore.; three stepsons, Marvin Oppelt of Roseburg, Ore., Charles Oppelt of White City, Ore., and Dan Duarte of Roseburg; three stepdaughters, Tammy Jones of Woodland, Wash., Pamela Ogden of Merrimack, N.H., and Ruth Wright of Grants Pass, Ore.; 24 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to McMinnville Lions Club or McMinnville United Methodist Building Fund.
