Louis C. Rodriguez, 69, of Duncan passed away at his home June 12, 2009. He was born June 21, 1939, to Pete and Eugenia Rodriguez. Louis was raised and educated in Duncan. He married Evelyn Montoya on Sept. 7, 1957, in Lordsburg, N.M. Louis retired as a construction cement finisher and carpenter. He belonged to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Duncan and the Laborers International Union of North America Local 383. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, farming, gardening, raising chickens and watching the Arizona Diamond-backs. He had a great love of family and enjoyed being around his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and watching them grow. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; children, Joe Luis Jr. (Michelle) Rodriguez, Frances (Juan) Garcia, Daniel (Alice) Rodriguez, Sabrina (Ben) Peña, Belinda (David) Herrera, Maria Perez, Arthur (Shirley) Rodriguez and Victor Rodriguez; brother, Pete Rodriguez Jr.; 20 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. Louis was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Frank, Ralph, Adres and Pablo; sisters, Aurora Rodriguez and Estella Rodriguez; and great-grandson, Victor Rodriguez Jr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 20, 2009, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Duncan. Friends and family may call on Thursday evening at the church, with rosary service at 7 p.m. Interment will be at the Virden Cemetery.
