Ovide Bergeron

Ovide Bergeron, 87, of Phoenix AZ, passed away December 11, 2000 at Scottsdale Healthcare in Scottsdale after a lengthy illness. Ovide was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on May 24, 1913, the son of Joseph and Victoria Bergeron.

Ovide served in the United States Army with the 345th Infantry from 1942 to 1945. During the European Theatre, Ovide participated in the Battles of the Ardennes and Rhineland.

In 1956, Ovide married Ann Zyskowski of Negaunee, Michigan, and they moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1977 after his retirement.

Ovide is survived by a step-son, Jerry Zyskowski and his wife of Seattle, Washington; his niece, Nanette Palmer of Pennsylvania; three nephews: Mike Bergeron of Ishpeming, Michigan, Richard Sane and Bobby Bogart, both of Florida. Ovide will be greatly missed by all of his family and many loving friends. Visitation was held Friday, December 15, 2000 at Whitney & Murphy Arcadia Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix. A Funeral Mass for Ovide was celebrated at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 5045 E. Thomas Road, Phx, on Friday, December 15th. A brunch will be held immediately following the service in the Pope John Paul Room at St. Theresa.
