Published by Yuma Sun on May 14, 2022 - Yuma, Arizona - Joseph Virgil Cesina, 31, left this Earth and gained his wings on May 6, 2022. He was born on January 29, 1991 in Yuma, AZ where he resided all his life. He had a variety of nicknames that were given to him, but everyone called him Joey, his nieces and nephews knew him as Gunks! Joey held a very special place in his heart for his family, he loved all of us as much as he possibly could. But the special love he shared with his nieces and nephews; was truly one of a kind! The very special bond they all created together meant the world to him. Joey also had numerous friends and cousins that loved him very much too, his one of a kind sarcasm is what made him special. He went through a lot of hardships in life, but that never stopped him from being the chaus, crazy, and loving soul that he was. Joey was survived by his sisters, DeAndra and Autumn Barley and his brother, Andrew Thomas, all of Yuma, AZ. He has many nieces and nephews he held close to his heart! Joseph was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Barley; father, Joseph Cesina and nephew, Michah V. Barley; grandma, Florence Barley Sharkey and grandpa, Leonard Hammond. Pallbearers will be Luis Angel Lopez, Jose Chavez Jr., Billy Paige Jr., Andrew Thomas, Cody Cesina, Michael Moses Sanchez, Mandel John Sanchez, Mandel John Sanchez Jr., John Sanchez III, Christopher Brown, Naaman Allen and Charles Escalanti. Honorary pallbearers are Joseph Cesina, Todd Durand, Edmund J. Domingues, Marlowe Barley, Nathaniel Barley, Corey Barley, Remeguis San Diego, Daniel Brown, Rudy Allen, and John Christman. Services will be held at Funeraria Del Angel on Saturday, May 14th, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm with Tribal Ceremony to follow at West Cocopah Big House in Somerton, AZ with cremation at 5:00 am. Rev. Todd Durand will officiate. We all love you Joey, Gunkle, you will be greatly missed. This is not goodbye, but I'll see you later!
