| Published by Mohave Daily News Online from May 18 to May 20, 2022 - Bullhead City, Arizona - Martha Lee Burgess, age 86, beloved wife and mother entered into sweet eternal life peacefully at home surrounded by her loving husband of 66 ½ years, Bobby Burgess and her family members on Monday, May 2, 2022. Martha was born May 7, 1935, in Winslow, Arizona to Romolo and Lucy Chacon. Martha married Bobby Lee Burgess on November 10, 1955, in Winslow, Arizona and from there began her married life as an Air Force wife, which she loved. She traveled throughout the United states, including Hawaii, and countries, Japan, and Germany. After Bob retired in 1981, they settled in Winslow, Arizona. They would go to Laughlin, Nevada often and in 1998, decided to move to Bullhead City. They kept their house in Bullhead City but bought a house in North Carolina in Carolina Shores, but after a few years they returned to Bullhead City to be closer to family and friends. Martha loved being with her family, dancing, cooking, playing Keno, and going to the VFW, but most of all she loved the Air Force life. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Lucy and Romolo Chacon; her brother, Robert Chacon, baby sister, Lucy Chacon; and her great- grandson, Killian Ramirez. Martha is survived by her loving husband, Bobby Lee Burgess; daughters, Linda (David) Graff of Bullhead City, Arizona, Terry (Kelly) Kolomitz of Winslow Arizona, and Rachell (Rowdy) Allen of Happy Jack, Arizona; sister-in-law, Carleen (Robert) Jarrett; grandchildren, Micaela (Holt) Loomis of Henderson, Texas, Bobby (Tisha) Cake of Kingman, Arizona, Shawn Mead of Winslow, Arizona, Chance Allen of Happy Jack, Arizona, Ty (Emily) Allen, of Mesa, Arizona, Lea Cake, of Phoenix, Arizona, Cayter (Dustin) Ontko, of Stem, North Carolina, and Kylee (Justin) Allen of Winslow, Arizona, Brea Graff of Sun City, Arizona; great-grandchildren, Charlie and Jacee Cake, Hayden, Hawke Molly, Martha Loomis, Ava, Harper, Wayde Ontko, Matthew Hernandez, Blake Mead, Kyra and Finley Mileham; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Services will be held by Reverend Charles B. Urnick, (Father Charlie), Rosary at 9:30a.m. and Mass following on Friday, May 20, 2022 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 3055 El Mirage Way, Laughlin, Nevada 89028. |
