| Published by Yuma Sun on May 20, 2022 - Yuma, Arizona - Our beloved Amelia Jaime Ortega sadly passed away on May 5, 2022. Born June 10, 1934 she was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt to all of her extended family. She was a member of her church and was a dedicated Christian woman, who lived by the old rules of service and sacrifice. Amelia was always there when she was needed by her friends and family members, she could tell a funny joke, give great advice, quote the bible and cook amazing food, anything to help others, she truly was selfless. Amelia's husband John, daughter Victoria, brothers Ignacio Jaime and Felipe Jaime preceded her in death. She is survived by her sisters, Adelina Garcia, Maria Guerrero, Bertha (Sam) Humer and brothers, Bibiano (Josephina) Jaime and Elias (Hilda) Jaime. Her son Joseph Ortega and step children, Mary Helen (Gary) Itsell, Gloria Sanchez and John Ortega. Amelia also leaves behind her grandchildren, John Ortega, Reid Ortega and Holly (Abraham) Castillo, whom she helped raise and the six great grandchildren she adored. Amelia's Celebration of Life will be held at Templo Betel Asambleas De Dios (1950 S Madison Ave, Yuma, AZ 85364) on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 10:00 AM.
