Published by Mohave Daily News Online from Jun. 12 to Jun. 13, 2022 - Bullhead City, Arizona - Michael Newman, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, peacefully at his home in Bullhead City, Arizona, after a three year battle with skin cancer. Mike moved to Bullhead City in 1980 from Topeka, Kan. and began his career with the Bullhead City Police Department as a founding member on July 29, 1985. During Mike's career at BHCPD he was instrumental in building and creating the Annual Fraternal Order of Police Volunteer Santa Sleigh Program that spreads Christmas cheer each year throughout Bullhead City. Mike retired as a Police Sergeant with 20 years of service on May 1, 2006. After his retirement, Mike experienced renal failure of both kidneys. He was blessed to find a live kidney donor, Kellie Julian, his angel here on earth. A piece of Kellie passed away that day also because her kidney functioned perfect for Mike until the end. Mike also worked for the Golden Nugget Laughlin in Security and Risk Management. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Ann Newman; brothers, Raymond Jr. and Larry Newman; sisters, Carol Elliott and Linda Newman. Mike is survived by his wife of 23 years, Janet; son, Michael; and his sister, Patty Newman. There will be a service for Michael Newman at 10 am on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Christian Growth Fellowship, under the direction of Pastor Jerry Duke, 1331 Baseline Road, Bullhead City, AZ (928)201-7088. RIP my love, until we meet again... Janet |
