Published by Today's News Herald on Jun. 17, 2022 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - LaVonne R. Klein, long-time resident of Lake Havasu City, passed away June 8, 2022. LaVonne was born Dec. 9, 1957, in San Bernardino, California, to James and Myra Callahan. She graduated from Bloomington High School in 1975. Except for two years, when the family moved to Washington, LaVonne grew up in Southern California. She met Michael Klein in 1975, married in 1978 and began a family. She was a devoted mother to April and Melanie. LaVonne worked for Stater Brother's Markets until 1994, when the family decided to move to Lake Havasu City. She worked for different doctors as a receptionist, until taking a job with Kraft Foods, where she worked for five years. With the birth of her first grandchild in 2003, LaVonne retired to help babysit. Soon there were four grandchildren to watch and LaVonne was in seventh heaven. LaVonne was preceded in death by her half brother Randy and father James Callahan. She is survived by her husband Michael Klein, daughters April Eckland, Melanie Klein, son-in-law Chris Eckland, grandchildren, Kailey Eckland, Brandon Eckland, Chloe Klein, Logan Klein, mother Myra Callahan, brother Michael Callahan and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be scheduled in the near future. |
