Michael Lee Watkins

Lake Havasu City, Arizona -

Michael (Mike) Lee Watkins, of Phoenix, passed away at 64 years old to
be with his Lord and Savior. Mike passed on June 16 at the Sunview
Respiratory and Rehab in Phoenix. He was born on June 6, 1958 to Raymer
D and Martha (Heinzl) Watkins in Heidelberg, Germany.

Growing up in an Army family, Mike lived in several places both domestic
and abroad, including Fort Riley, Kansas, Addis Ababa Ethiopia Africa,
Kailua Oahu, Grand Rapids, Michigan, Lake Havasu City and finally
Phoenix, where he spent most of his life. While in Africa, Mike enjoyed
riding horses with family and friends, shooting BB guns and going to
town to buy match box cars with his allowance. He lived in Hawaii from
1969 to 1970 and loved to do things with his brothers and sister that
included riding bike, fishing, crabbing and going to the beach to body
surf and skim board.

Mike lived in Michigan from 1969 to 1972 and loved the seasons, and
especially looked forward to the fishing and camping outings with his
dad and brothers. Mike moved to Lake Havasu City in 1972, while living
there he looked forward to going to the lake, fishing, boating, dirt
bike riding and loved science fiction, especially the Star Trek series.

Mike graduated from Lake Havasu City High School in 1977 and soon after
enlisted in the Army, serving four years. He later attended Mojave
Community College and focused on a police certification. He worked for
the Lake Havasu City Police force from 1989 until 1994. Later he held
several security positions in Lake Havasu City and Phoenix until he
retired in 2021 from Securitas. Mike adored his dogs (Schatzie, Abba,
and Nakia)

Mike is preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Anna Heinzl,
Raymer and Mary Watkins, and his Mother Martha Watkins. Mike survived by
his children, Michael and Adriane, his grandchildren Summer, Monique and
Wyatt, and great- grandson Aers. His brothers Dale, Dan, Stan, sister
Shirley and father Raymer.

Mike was buried July 15 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona
23029 N. Cave Creek Rd. Phoenix, AZ 85024.
