Emmanuel A. Encisco, Sr.

Born in Fresnillo, Zacetecas, Mexico on March 29, 1912.
Departed on July 17, 2002 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona.

Emmanuel A. Encisco, 90, of Cottonwood died July 17. He was born March 29, 1912 in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, Mexico to Canuto B. Encisco and Andrea Amaro.

He came to the United States in the mid-1920's. He resided in Topeka, Kansas before coming to Flagstaff, Arizona.

He worked for the Saginaw and Manistee Lumber Companies, Arizona Public Service and Coconino County until his retirement in 1978. He moved to Cottonwood in 1994.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Carmen Y. Encisco; his five children, Dolores Humlie, McMinnville, Or., Justino Encisco, Emmanuel Y. Encisco, Jr., both of Cottonwood, Rebecca Ruiz and Alfred Y. Encisco both of Flagstaff; daughters-in-law, Sanaida Encisco, Mary Encisco and Maria Encisco; seventeen grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and one nephew. He was the last surviving child of Canuto and Andrea Encisco, thus closing that chapter of the family tree.

A Rosary will be recited Monday, July 22 at the Immaculate Conception Church, Cottonwood at 7:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be said Tuesday, July 23 at the Church at 10 a.m.

Burial will follow in the Cottonwood Cemetery.
