Arizona Republic (Phoenix, Arizona) Thursday, September 26, 1963, p. 38 Amos Hays, Santa Fe Conductor Amos C. Hays, 76, a Santa Fe railroad conductor for 42 years, died Tuesday in Good Samaritan Hospital. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow at Mercer Mortuary, with Dr. Charles Severns officiating. Graveside services will be by the Masonic funeral committee at Memory Lawn Memorial Park. Mr. Hays of 1333 E. Monte Vista had lived in Arizona for 53 years. He came to Phoenix 35 years ago. He was born in Banner County, Ill. Mr. Hays retired nine years ago. He was a member of the Order of Railway Conductors and Brakemen and the Christian Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Betty H. Reynolds and Clara Ann Hays, both of Phoenix; a son, Galen of Phoenix; a brother, Charles, of Canton, Ill.; and a grandson. |
