Unexpected Decease of Mrs. James Elvey

Mrs. Josephine Oliver Elvey, wife of James Elvey, resident four miles
northwest of Phoenix, died suddenly Thursday night. Heart disease is
assigned as the cause. Deceased had been suffering for years with
asthma, but had retired about 11 o'clock apparently in excellent health.
Shortly after retiring she was taken with a spasm that caused her
husband to send post-haste for Doctor Hughes, but before the physician
could arrive she was dead. The attack was not over twenty minutes in
length of time.

Mrs. Elvey was 49 years of age. Coming hither five years ago from
Chicago, she soon was recognized as a woman of the kindliest nature and
most admirable character. A husband and six children are of the family.

The funeral will be held this morning at 10 o'clock from the family
residence, interment being made in the city cemetery.
