| Wickenburg Sun (Wickenburg, Arizona) Wednesday, July 20, 2022, p. A-5 Joan (Joanie) Bonita Swingle left this world peacefully while resting at her home July 9, 2022. Joanie was born Feb. 2, 1949, in Jersey City, N.J., to her loving parents John and Gloria. Joanie started working at TRW, a satellite systems company, right out of high school commuting daily with her father who also worked there. She quickly worked her way up through senior management positions in a typically male dominated field and while working, graduated with a master's degree as she raised her two children. She was a powerhouse business woman creating and running many businesses. She consulted on everything from business law to interior decorating. Oh, and did we mention she also was a stand-up comedian?! She loved to travel and experience new cultures and landscapes. She was a keen observer of human nature and freely shared her wisdom with others. No matter how busy Joanie was, she was always available to help when needed. She will be sorely missed by those who were blessed to know her. Joanie is survived by her loving husband Gary Swingle, daughter Ginger, son Laz, her sister Billie, her BFF Paula and her adored grandchildren Andrew, Zac and Steven. She is predeceased by her parents, her brother John and sister Marty. A celebration of Joanie's life will be held at The Stock Market, 901 W. Wickenburg Way on Saturday July 30 starting at 9 a.m. Please bring your memories and if you'd like, a dish to share. |
