Weekly Journal-Miner (Prescott, Arizona) Wednesday, February 8, 1922, p. 2 J. B. DOCKER OF U.V. IS DEAD Aged Man Who Was Years in Big Mine, Passes Away At Phoenix; His Funeral Will Be Held Here Next Monday (From Saturday's Daily) J. B. Docker, 91 years old, for years and years a trusted employe of the United Verde Copper company, passed away yesterday at Phoenix. Word of the death of the well-known old miner was received by friends here yesterday, who were also told of the arrangements for the funeral, to be held at Prescott. Mr. Docker's body will reach Prescott Sunday night. At 2 o'clock Monday afternoon, the Episcopal services wil be read at Lester Ruffner's chapel and interment will be in Mountain View cemetery. For many years the deceased was one of the trusted employes of the United Verde, where he served in several capacities, but chiefly as a hoist engineer. He is survived by a son, Ted Docker, a machinery salesman of El Paso, and by a daughter, the wife of Dr. Norman of Phoenix. Of Mr. Docker it could truthfully be said that he and his family were known to nearly every man in the state. |
