| The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona June 29, 2006 Elaine "Rothie" Shea, 85, formerly of Chicago, Illinois, passed away June 26, 2006 at her Scottsdale, AZ residence. Beloved wife of the late Bill; loving mother of Laurie (Dave) McElligott, Jim, Tom and John (Mikki) Shea; cherished Nana of David, Matthew, Pete and Drew McElligott; dear sister of the late George (Lorraine) Rothermel and treasured friend of Fr. Robert Herne. Rothie also leaves behind many special friends who loved her much and whom she loved in return. Per her request, a celebration visitation was held Thursday, June 29, at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Rd., Scottsdale. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday, June 30, 2006, at the Franciscan Renewal Center, 5802 E. Lincoln Dr., Paradise Valley, AZ. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Lung Assn., 102 W. McDowell Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85003.
