James White
1935 - 2009

James White, 74, formerly of Payson, died June 14, 2009 at Lake East Hospital in Painesville, Ohio. He was born March 27, 1935 in Logan, W.V. to the late Merle and Ruby White.

Mr. White was the owner and operator of the Payson Patriot newspaper in Arizona. He was also an Arizona state legislator and a city councilman in Phoenix. He started the volunteer program at the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Department and was involved with the Gila County Sheriff’s Office. He also owned and operated Arizona Dental Care for many years prior to his retirement. He worked at Fisher Foods as a meat cutter in Cleveland, Ohio prior to moving to Arizona.

Survivors are his wife of 52 years, Anita (Snyder); children, James M. (Vicki) White, Julie Ann Barto, Joni Ruth White and the late Jeffrey Charles White; grandchildren, Ryan, Cory, Travis, Kyle and Jessica Ray; brother, Merrill White; brother-in-law, Arnold (Karen) Snyder; and many loving nieces and nephews.

There was a memorial service June 18 at Celebration Lutheran Church in Chardon, Ohio.
