Published by Mohave Daily News Online from Jan. 11 to Jan. 25, 2023 - Bullhead City, Arizona - Wanda Lee Wilkes, age 92, a 50+ year resident of Mohave Valley, Arizona, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 27, 2022 with her family by her side. She was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on August 4, 1930. Wanda was raised in Southern California on a a farm. She studied accounting and business and worked for several financial institutions in California. She later worked for Southern California Gas Company in Needles, California until she retired. Wanda loved her Church, her friends and her family. She never met a stranger. She was a very talented seamstress and made many quilts for new babies. She taught dancing and loved Rock & Roll and Rhythm and Blues. She also loved sitting on her front porch watching the river go by. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John; and grandchild, Jesse Dillon. Wanda is survived by her son, James (Sarah) Wilkes; daughter, Ronda Lynn Dillon; sister, Beverly Brazassa; four grandchildren, Yvonne (Michael) Colclasure, Jamie (Jason) Albaugh, John Dillon, and Trey Dillon; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; niece, Jeri; and nephews, Bill and Hank. A service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2022 at the United Methodist Church on Lipan Blvd. Lunch will be served after the service. |
