Garland Russell "Russ" Queen, age 96, passed away on Friday, October 21,
2022. He was born on May 20, 1927, the second son of Everett and Flora
Queen.

Russ graduated from Niles High School in 1945. In 1949, he married
Margaret E. Ashworth of Ann Arbor, Michigan. They had three children
together, Victoria, Kevin Russell and Timothy William. Later in life he
met and married Gladys Amburn of San Jose, California. Gladys brought an
extended family of six step-children, Carmela (Kitty), Robert (Buck),
Ralph, Richard (Rick), Karen and Rafael (Rusty) deceased. A combined
total of 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

His work history began as a MI Railroad brakeman, then he opened his own
shop as a barber/hair stylist for 32 years. In 1981 he sold the shop and
moved to California where he worked for an oil company in San Jose,
California as a warehouse supervisor and delivery driver. After
retiring, he moved to Bullhead City, Arizona and found his last career
as a professional Santa Claus. As "Santa" he charmed the children in
LeHigh Valley, Pennsylvania and the Woodlands in Houston, Texas. One of
his favorite "gigs" was playing "Santa Paws" for pet photos.

Russ was always a people person.

Nobody was a stranger for very long with him. He loved to travel,
especially on his motorcycles. He loved to tinker and fix things and he
loved all animals, especially his Boston Terrier, Romeo. Most of all, he
loved his family and we loved him. Now and forever!
