Published by Today's New Herald on Jan. 31, 2023 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Mary Louise Samp, 90, formally of Lake Havasu City, AZ passed away on December 22, 2022. Mary Lou passed comfortably at home in Escondido, CA, surrounded by family. Mary Lou was the youngest of six girls, born on the 26th of October, 1932 to Roland and Dorthy Allman of Toronto, Canada. For 50 years Mary Lou was married to Richard Samp and together they raised four children, moving from Santa Monica, to Placentia, CA, to Lake Havasu City, AZ. For 25 years they were the proud owners and operators of Havasu Lanes where they liked to say... "Let the good times roll". Upon retirement Mary Lou was able to travel extensively, she enjoyed her family, playing bridge, the casino, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and having long phone conversations with her lifelong friends. Mary Lou is survived by her sister Doris, children Patti, Donna, Ken, Doug, and their families which include five grandchildren and four great grandchildren - along with a host of nieces and nephews throughout the US and Canada. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made on Mary Lou's behalf to the American Cancer Society. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. |
